As aForward Deployed EngineerontheKoch RiskOptimization team, you will serve as an embedded technical partner and full-stack builderwho createsproduction-readyapplications, dataanalytics solutions, andgenerative AIworkflowsto solvecomplex risk, financial, and investment challenges.
You willcollaboratedirectlywithriskcapabilityleaders,quantitative analysts, and technology support groupsto rapidly prototype, deploy, and own high-impacttechnical solutionsacross market risk, credit risk,insuranceandinvestmentsdomains.

What You Will Do
- Embedded technical partner and full-stack builder:Work side-by-side withdomainexpertstobuild, deploy,operate, and improve systemsthat supportrisk/rewardoptimizationfor significantcommercial, trading, and capital allocationactivitiesacrossKoch.Take the leadon requirements gathering,prototyping, full-stackdevelopmentandfollow-throughto deliveruseful analytics, applications and AI solutionsthatresult in better decisions.
- Workacross teamsto enhanceoperationaloutcomes:Connectand collaborate withexisting technical supportresourcestoaugment your capabilities,fosteringpartnershipsbased on mutual benefit and comparative advantage; drive towardsacommon goal ofmaintainingstableandreliable performancefor applicationsandsystemsused by the Risk Optimization team.
- Lead AI-native engineering practicesto enhance ourteam’sexecution speed and expand our capabilities:Champion AI-nativesoftwareengineering methodologies to accelerateoutputandexpand technical operational rangeacross the team. Partner with RiskOptimizationteam members to contributeadditionalexpertise towards development and deployment of models and analytics so we can be more responsive to business needs.
- Develop and support innovativeGenAI workflows and agents:The RiskOptimizationteamhas deployednumerousGenAI solutionsacrosstheenterprise,withan active project pipeline; you will play an integralrolein our strategyto leadon the frontier ofgenerative AIat Koch.
- Uphold enterprisearchitecture standards:Collaborate with enterprise architectureleaders and support groupstomaintainrobust identity, security,dataandplatformgovernance standards across all deployed systems.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Professional experienceinboth front-end and back-endsoftware engineering.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating applications in an enterprise cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience usingAI-nativedeveloper tooling(e.g.Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.),toaccelerate softwaredesign, implementation,and refactoringwhile carefully managing the quality and maintainability of outputs.
- Experience directly collaborating with business stakeholders and end users to translate business requirements into working software solutions.
- Strongproficiencyin modern programming languages and web stacks (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks,SQL).
- Experiencesupporting&maintainingapplications in production.
- Interestand excitement for learning aboutfinancial markets, investments,andcommodities trading.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experienceoperatingas an embedded engineer within a business unit or trading/investment environment with high autonomy and direct decision rights.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and business areas and collaborate with other groups toaccomplishcomplex goals.
- Experience designing and implementing generative AI workflows, skills, and agents.
- Experience designing and deploying end-to-end data pipelines and database architectures (relational, document, or cloud data warehouses),includingexperience withSnowflake,dbt,orothermodern data stack orchestration tools.
- Experience with identity,securityandaccess governance.
- Experience managing & supporting systems or codebases built by a third-party.
